Our Expertise

Atlas Bridge Wealth is a private client office based in Portugal, created for UK families whose financial lives span more than one country.

We help clients bring together the key decisions that often get fragmented during a move abroad: pensions, investments, cashflow, residency timing, tax coordination, estate planning, relocation considerations and long-term retirement structure.

Our role is to provide calm, joined-up coordination, so that each decision is considered in the right order, with the right professional input, and with a clear view of the long-term consequences.

We are also one of the very few firms in our space to operate on a fee-based model, aligned with the standards expected in the UK private client market. That means transparent fees, a clear scope of work, and planning built around your objectives and outcomes, NOT product sales.

Where regulated investment, pension, insurance or product advice is required, we introduce clients to an appropriately authorised firm for that advice. That firm is responsible for the regulated advice, suitability process, disclosures and implementation. Atlas Bridge Wealth may remain involved in planning coordination, education and client support, but does not itself provide regulated investment, pension or insurance advice.

How our Private Client Office model works

Atlas Bridge Wealth acts as your client-facing private office: helping you understand the moving parts, identify the right priorities, coordinate the right professionals, and keep the overall strategy joined up.

Our role is not to replace specialist tax or legal advice. Where required, we work alongside carefully selected tax advisers, lawyers, accountants and other professionals to ensure each area is properly addressed. Through our Private Office approach, we help coordinate the wider planning picture, bring the right people together, and give clients clarity on what needs to happen, when, and why.

Where regulated investment, pension, insurance or product implementation advice is required, this is provided separately by an appropriately authorised firm for the relevant jurisdiction. Where UK or Portuguese or Spanish tax/legal advice is required, this is provided by suitably qualified tax or legal professionals.

Our Services

Cross-Border Financial Planning

For UK families moving to or living in Portugal and Spain, financial planning often spans more than one country. Pensions, investments, property, tax residency and estate planning can all interact.

Our role is to help bring these moving parts together — understanding your circumstances, priorities and future plans, and coordinating the different professional areas that may need to be considered.

The aim is simple: to provide clarity, structure and coordination when your life and finances cross borders.

Investment Coordination

Clients often arrive in Portugal or Spain with investments spread across ISAs, pensions, cash, investment accounts, offshore bonds and managed portfolios.

We help clients understand how these arrangements fit into their wider cross-border position, including structure, risk, currency exposure and areas that may require further review following a change of residency.

Where regulated investment advice, suitability assessment or implementation is required, this is provided by an appropriately authorised firm in the relevant jurisdiction.

Retirement and Pension Planning

UK pensions are often a significant part of retirement planning, particularly when Portugal or Spain is involved. Tax treatment, income needs, currency, investment risk and legacy considerations can all affect the wider picture.

We help clients understand how their pensions fit alongside other assets, such as ISAs, investments, property and cash, and coordinate with the appropriate regulated and tax professionals where specialist advice is required.

We do not provide regulated pension transfer advice or pension product recommendations in our own name.

Wealth Structuring and Protection

Good planning is about more than growing wealth. It is also about organising assets properly, managing risk and helping ensure family and long-term objectives remain supported as circumstances change.

We help clients bring together pensions, investments, property, cash and business interests, considering how these fit with income needs, family priorities and future plans.

This can include coordination around protection, succession, beneficiaries, estate considerations, liquidity and later-life planning across borders.

Relocation Planning

Moving to Portugal or Spain can affect tax residency, pensions, investments, banking, property and estate planning.

We help clients organise the financial and practical issues around relocation — what to consider before leaving the UK, during the move and once settled abroad.

Where tax, legal, immigration or property expertise is required, we introduce the appropriate professionals and help keep the wider planning coordinated.

Introductions to Tax & Legal Specialists

Cross-border planning often involves several professionals, from tax advisers and lawyers to accountants, mortgage brokers and other specialists.

Our role is to help identify when specialist input is needed, introduce appropriately qualified professionals and coordinate their guidance within the wider plan.

This private office approach helps keep decisions connected, rather than considered in isolation.

Our Approach

We start with the full picture, not a product.

For UK families in Europe, the right answer rarely sits in one place. Pensions, investments, tax residency, property, family objectives, estate planning and future income all interact. Our role is to help you understand those moving parts, decide what needs attention, and coordinate the right professional input where specialist advice is required.

We believe good planning should be clear, calm and properly explained. You should understand what is being proposed, why it matters, what it costs, and how it fits into your wider life.

Life in Portugal or Spain, Properly Planned

For our clients, Portugal or Spain is often the beginning of an exciting new chapter: more time, more freedom, a different pace of life and a chance to enjoy what they have worked hard to build.

Our purpose is to help make sure the finances support that chapter properly.

Whether you are preparing to leave the UK, already resident in Europe, planning retirement or reconsidering how your wealth is structured, Atlas Bridge Wealth can help you understand your position and take the next steps with confidence.
