Private Client Office for Cross-Border Wealth Planning
Atlas Bridge Wealth is a private client office based in Portugal, supporting UK expatriates and internationally mobile families whose lives, wealth and residency span more than one country.
We help clients bring together the key decisions that often become fragmented when moving abroad: pensions, investments, cashflow, residency timing, retirement income, tax exposure, estate considerations and long-term family objectives.
Our role is to provide clear, joined-up support and coordination, so that each decision is considered in the right order, with the right professional input, and with a clear view of the wider picture.
Where regulated investment, pension, insurance or product implementation advice is required, this is provided through appropriately authorised firms in the relevant jurisdiction. Atlas Bridge Wealth does not provide tax or legal advice. Where formal tax or legal advice is required, we coordinate with suitably qualified professionals.

Financial planning built around life between the UK and Portugal/Spain
A private client approach for successful UK families moving to, living in or returning from Portugal, Spain or wider Europe.
Atlas Bridge Wealth was created for people whose financial lives no longer sit neatly in one country.
For many of our clients, the move to Portugal or Spain is the reward for years of building a successful career, business or family wealth. But it can also create a series of important decisions around pensions, investments, property, income, tax residency, estate planning and long-term security.
Our role is to help bring those decisions together into one clear plan, carefully considered, properly coordinated and centred on the life you want to live.

Why Atlas Bridge Wealth Exists
Moving countries should not mean losing clarity over your finances.
Many UK families arriving in Portugal or Spain discover that the arrangements they built in the UK no longer fit comfortably with their new life abroad. Investments may be held in the wrong place. Pension decisions may carry unexpected consequences. Property sales, business exits, residency timing and income planning may all interact.
The difficulty is rarely one single issue. It is understanding how everything fits together, and what needs to happen in the right order.
Atlas Bridge Wealth exists to provide that clarity.
We combine UK private client-style planning and co-ordination with practical experience of cross-border life in Portugal, helping clients understand their options and coordinate the specialist advice they may need along the way.
Who We Work With
We work with UK nationals and internationally mobile families whose lives, wealth or future plans involve Portugal, Spain or Europe.
Typically, our clients are:
-
already resident in Portugal or Spain and looking to organise their UK pensions and investments properly;
-
preparing to move from the UK to Portugal or Spain and wanting to avoid costly mistakes before becoming resident;
-
approaching or already in retirement and wanting confidence that their wealth can support the life they have planned;
-
business owners or professionals who have accumulated meaningful assets and now want a joined-up strategy for the next stage of life;
-
families returning to the UK after a period abroad and needing to realign their arrangements accordingly.

How We Work
At Atlas Bridge Wealth, our work is guidance-led. We do not believe in rushing straight to products, platforms or investments before understanding the wider picture.
For UK nationals moving to, living in, or financially connected to Europe, the order of decisions matters. Pensions, investments, property, tax residency, estate planning, cashflow, income requirements and cross-border reporting can all interact with one another. A decision that looks sensible in isolation may create problems if it is not considered as part of the wider plan.
Our role is to help you bring those moving parts together into a clear, practical strategy.
Our Planning Framework
1. Initial Discovery Call
We begin with an initial conversation to understand your situation, objectives and whether we are the right firm to help.
This call is designed to understand your circumstances, objectives and the broad areas where planning, coordination or specialist advice may be required. There is no obligation to proceed. If we believe another professional is better placed to help, we will say so.
2. Scope and Engagement
Following the initial conversation, we will agree the scope of our work, identify where specialist or regulated advice may be required, and confirm what Atlas Bridge Wealth will and will not be responsible for.
Some clients need a focused strategy report. Others require a more detailed cross-border planning review involving pensions, investments, tax coordination, property, residency and estate planning considerations.
At this stage, we agree the scope of work, the fee, and what will be delivered before any detailed analysis begins.
3. Information Gathering
We then gather the relevant information needed to understand your position properly.
This may include details of pensions, investments, savings, property, income, tax residency, existing advisers, family circumstances, objectives, risk profile, cashflow needs and future plans.
Where required, we may also coordinate with your accountant, tax adviser, lawyer or other professional advisers to ensure the advice is joined up.
4. Planning and Analysis
Once the necessary information has been gathered, we carry out the detailed work.
Depending on the complexity of your case, this may include cashflow modelling, pension analysis, investment structure review, tax-efficiency considerations, income planning, estate planning considerations, and a comparison of available planning routes. This planning work is designed to help clients understand their position and possible routes. It does not, by itself, constitute regulated investment, pension, insurance, tax or legal advice.
Our aim is to help you understand your options clearly, including the advantages, disadvantages, costs, risks and practical implications of each route.
5. Your Client Report
You will receive a written report setting out our observations, analysis, planning considerations and proposed next steps.
The report is designed to provide a clear roadmap, helping you understand the key issues, the options available, the order in which decisions may need to be considered, and where specialist or regulated advice may be required.
Where a regulated investment, pension, insurance or product recommendation is required, this will be provided separately by an appropriately authorised firm responsible for that advice.
This is not an administrative document. It is the product of detailed analysis, professional judgement and cross-border planning experience. The report is designed to give you a clear roadmap, helping you understand what to do, why it matters, and in what order the key decisions should be made.
6. Implementation
If you decide to proceed, we can help coordinate the agreed next steps.
This may include introducing you to an appropriately authorised investment, pension or insurance firm where regulated advice or implementation is required; coordinating with tax or legal advisers; helping organise documentation; and ensuring each stage is considered in the right order.
Any regulated advice, suitability assessment, product recommendation or implementation will be provided by the relevant authorised firm, not by Atlas Bridge Wealth.
Implementation fees will be confirmed clearly before any work is undertaken.
7. Ongoing Private Client Service
For clients who require long-term support, we provide an ongoing private client service.
This includes regular planning reviews, cashflow updates where appropriate, coordination with other professional advisers, and ongoing support as your circumstances, tax position, residency status or objectives change over time.
Our aim is to provide clarity, continuity and joined-up financial planning as your life evolves.
A Different Kind of
Financial Planning Relationship
Hopefully it's clear now that we do not begin with a product or a pre-determined solution.
We begin with your life: where you are resident, where your wealth is held, what income you need, what matters to your family and what you want the years ahead to look like.
From there, we help you understand:
-
how your pensions, investments, cash and property fit together;
-
what may need reviewing before or after a move to Portugal or Spain;
-
how sustainable your retirement income may be;
-
what specialist tax or legal advice may be required;
-
and how each decision affects the wider plan.
Where regulated investment, pension, insurance or implementation advice is required, this is provided separately by appropriately authorised firms for the relevant jurisdiction.. Where Portuguese or Spanish tax or legal advice is required, we coordinate with suitably qualified specialists.
The result is a more joined-up relationship: clear financial planning, specialist input where needed, and one central point of coordination focused on your long-term objectives.
The principal behind
your financial planning..

Steve created Atlas Bridge Wealth after recognising a very specific need: successful UK families moving to or living in Portugal often require a more thoughtful, planning-led approach than the traditional expatriate advice market provides.
Having made the move to Portugal himself, Steve understands that relocation is about far more than financial structures. It is about family, security, lifestyle, freedom and making sure the wealth you have built genuinely supports the life you moved for.
His approach is straightforward: listen carefully, explain things clearly, charge transparently and ensure clients make informed decisions with the right professional support around them.
